TGZ file is a TAR archive file which has been compressed using Zip software. It is a compressed file format by UNIX. It holds multiple archived file in one whose size is reduced when it compressed with .GZIP. TGZ. So, it is also known as .gzip files. These files are specially created for use on the GNU project. When you are using Mac operating system it can be easily handled but windows operating system does not have an ability to handled TGZ files without some help.
